SUMMARY:MoveIt! - Preview: Film Screening "I\, Poppy" beim Montagscafé
DESCRIPTION:Willkommen im Herzen der Stadt - Welcome to the heart of the ci
ty! (English below)-------------------------Jeden Montag könnt ihr uns ab
In Kooperatio
rphin an.
 e Lebensgrundlage.\n\n„I\, Poppy“ zeigt eindrücklich\, wie Mangilals

---------------Every Monday\, you can visit us at the Kleines Haus from 3
pm\; entry is free and so are the drinks\, soup and cultural programme.\nO
n the first Monday of the month\, the Sewing Café takes place at the Wome
n’s Café. From 3.00 pm\, you’re welcome to sit down at one of our sew
 ing machines!\n\nFrom 7.00 pm\, we’ll be watching a film. In partnership
with the MOVEIT! International Human Rights Film Festival\, we’ll be sc
 reening the documentary “I\, Poppy”.\n\nFor decades\, a farming family
in Rajasthan has been growing poppies for medical morphine thanks to a go
vernment licence. But their son\, Mangilal\, is no longer willing to put u
p with the arbitrary behaviour of the drug authorities and the poor pay. H
is fight against corruption leads to disaster: the family loses its licenc
 e and\, with it\, its livelihood.\n\n“I\, Poppy” powerfully illustrate
s how Mangilal’s defiance exposes the deep-rooted institutional power st
ructures in rural India – but also how political activism can become a s
evere test for one’s own family.\n\n“A multi-layered and honest film t
hat masterfully depicts one of India’s greatest conflicts.”— DOK.fes
t Munich\n\nEntrance is free\, but donations are welcome!\n\nWe look forwa
