 te die Welt eine der größten technologischen Katastrophen – die Explos
 ion und Kernschmelze im Kernkraftwerk Tschernobyl. Die Auswirkungen dieses
  Unglücks waren weltweit zu spüren. Die tatsächliche Zahl der Opfer ist
  bis heute nicht bekannt aufgrund der Geheimhaltung durch die sowjetische 
 Bürokratie. Doch schon in den 80er Jahren war klar\, dass Tschornobyl noc
 h sehr lange im Leben der Menschen präsent bleiben würde. Heute\, 40 Jah
 re später kommen wir zusammen\, um uns daran zu erinnern\, was damals ges
 chah\, über die Folgen zu reden und darüber\, warum es wichtig ist\, auc
 h heute diesen Ort nicht aus dem Fokus zu verlieren – angesichts der Bes
 etzung durch russische Truppen\, der Drohnenangriffe und der fortwährende
 n Instandhaltung des riesigen Sarkophags\, der den Rest der Welt vor den F
 ehlern der Menschheit schützt.\n\nDas Sowjetimperium ist längst verschwu
 nden\, und Tschornobyl bleibt eines der Denkmäler des Zusammenbruchs\; es
  erinnert uns daran\, dass wir vorsichtig mit Technologien umgehen müssen
 \, die uns alle zerstören können.\n\nDie Veranstaltung findet in Form vo
 n Lesungen aus den Erinnerungen der von Tschornobyl Betroffenen statt\, er
 gänzt durch Fakten und Zahlen über Vergangenheit und Gegenwart\, gefolgt
  von einer Diskussion darüber\, was wir aus der Vergangenheit lernen kön
 nen\, um die Fehler in der modernen technologischen Welt nicht zu wiederho
 len.\n\nDie Veranstaltung wird englisch/deutsch gemischt sein. \n\nEs gib

 e of Fame | Königsbrücker Straße 39\, Dresden\n\n\nOn 26 April 1986 the
  world went through one of the biggest technogen catastrophes - explosion 
 and meltdown at Chornobyl nuclear power plant. The echo of that disaster w
 as spread all around the globe and the amount of victims will most probabl
 y never be know due to secrecy of the soviet bureaucratic machine. But bac
 k in the 80s it was clear that the Chornobyl will stay in the lives of peo
 ple for very long time. We gather 40 years later to remember what was happ
 ening back then\, talk about the consequences and why it is important to t
 alk about the place today\, with it's occupation by russian troops\, drone
  strike and continuous maintenance of the huge sarcophagus that protects t
 he rest of the world from the mistakes of the humankind.\n\nThe Soviet Emp
 ire is long gone\, and Chornobyl is one of the monuments to it's collapse\
 , reminds us that we have to be careful with technology that can destroy u
 s all.\n\nThe event will be in the format of reading parts of memories tho
 se who were affected by Chornobyl\, but also facts and figures about past 
 and present with a discussion afterwards on what we can learn from the pas
 t not to repeat the mistakes in the modern technological world.\n\nThe eve
 nt will be in german and english language. \n\nThere will be snacks and d
 rinks at the bar. \n
